World XI official team squad vs Pakistan T20I series 2017. Official World XI players list against Pakistan for Independence Cup 2017. ICC officially announced World XI players for T20I series against Pakistan.
World XI is all set to help bring cricket back to Pakistan with their squad already announced. Though it’s just an exhibition T20I series but the kind of World XI squad that has been announced is really great to see for such matches. There was great response from the cricketers from around the world who wanted to be a part of this series but we now have the final list of 14 players who will be traveling to Pakistan for the revival of cricket in that part of the world.
As announced, South African Faf du Plessis will be playing as captain for World XI in the 3-match T20I series against Pakistan. We all know he is an accredited top order batsman and has lead South Africa quite successfully in his career so far. But will he be able to bring the players from different teams together and make them a unit to fight together against a formidable T20I outfit in Pakistan. Well, that’s a million-dollar question and we’ll have to wait for a few more days to find out the answer.
Batting Strengths – Batting Lineup
The captain himself will give the real strength to World XI’s batting lineup. Averaging 37.63 in T20Is, he really is one strong component in the World XI batting line. Besides, they have some other greats of the game with the likes of Hashim Amla, George Bailey, and Paul Collingwood. There are some serious hitters in the squad as well who are tailor made for T20I cricket. Some big names include Tamim Iqbal from Bangladesh, Grant Elliott from New Zealand, David Miller from South Africa and Darren Sammy for West Indies. All these guys really combine to give their batting line up some real strength and it will be a really interesting battle against Pakistan’s strong bowling. We really look forward to it.
Bowling Strengths – Bowling Lineup
As for their bowling, it’s again a star-studded line up that World XI has got. With Ben Cutting and Morne Morkel to lead their pace attack, there will be Thisara Perera and Darren Sammy to play as the supporting cast. Grant Elliott can also roll his arm over and so does Paul Collingwood. But they will be expecting a few super spells from their leg-spinners with the likes of Imran Tahir and Samuel Badree, two completely different style of bowlers. Let’s see how they all come together to give Pakistani batsmen some hard time in the middle.
