Pakistan vs England Today Match Prediction, Astrological Preview 1st Semi Final
So, we have had our fair share of nervousness and anxiety as Pakistan kept us on our feet right till the last moment to keep that small chase interesting against Sri Lanka. Pakistan have a habit of making simplest of tasks difficult for them and they truly lived to our expectations by doing just that. So, that’s all over now and they will now be focusing on the next game at hand and it’s really a big one. Yes, it’s the 1st Semi Final of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 and they are now faced with by far the best side of the tournament, England. England haven’t lost a single match in the tournament so far and are the only unbeaten side in the tournament. Plus, they have the advantage of playing at home as well. But will that matter at the end of the day?
Well, our prediction is again in favor of Pakistan. Our experts and astrologists suggest that Pakistan will defy all odds and will come on top against another top rated side as they did by defeating the world no.1 South Africa. England are surely a better side but it will be the test of their character and nerves to play against a predictably unpredictable side. So, we’ll have to wait and watch if they will be able to play their A game in a crucial knock out match or not.
Pakistan didn’t play the best of their cricket in any of their matches in ICC Champions Trophy 2017 so far. And the department in which they are lagging behind is again their batting that has been the area of concern and inconsistency for them for years now. Even though they have found a good opener in Fakhar Zaman who has scored 81 runs in his two outings in the tournament so far, and that too at a 100-plus strike rate, but that doesn’t seem to end Pakistan’s woes in the batting department.
Even in their last game against Sri Lanka where they were chasing a small target of 237 runs Pakistan went from a commanding position of 74 for 1 to 137 for 6 and were in all sorts of troubles, risking their chances to progress further in the tournament. If they have to fancy their chances to win the tournament, they really have to ace their batting. With Azhar and Zaman providing them with good enough starts, no.3 to no.5 in the middle order that comprise Azam, Hafeez and Malik will really have to play responsibly against England if Pakistan have to challenge such a formidable outfit. Had it not been for Sarfaraz and Amir in the last game, who scored 61* and 28* respectively, it would have been all over for Pakistan by now.
After all that discussion about Pakistan’s batting, the department where they are performing strongly as always is their bowling. After receiving a bashing in the first match against India, Pakistani bowlers have recovered well and have restricted South Africa and Sri Lanka under 250 in the next two games. So, if they will be able to pull off a similar performance in the semis then they’ll give themselves a big chance to make it to the Final. What they really need badly is for Amir to strike with the new ball. He has been economical but is lacking penetration and that will be needed more against England’s top batting line up. Other than that, Pakistan will be relying on Hasan Ali who has picked up 7 wickets so far in 3 matches. Besides, Pakistan might be forced to play an extra spinner considering the fact that English batsmen don’t play spin well and, therefore, we see Shadab making a comeback in the next game.
Let’s now come to England. Well, their batsmen are really in the form of their lives and they have been piling runs game after game and will look to do the same yet again. Even though big sides often have a habit of choking against the teams from Sub-continent in the big games, but England don’t seem to have any such plans this time around. And, if Pakistan have to beat them then they’ll really have to go through a tough route. England’s totals so far in the tournament include 305/6, 310 and 240/4 in 40.2 overs where they won the match on D/L method.
So, that tells the entire story of England’s batting so far in the tournament. Going into the next match, England will again be depending on their top 4 as Hales, Root and Morgan have all got runs under their belt. But we’ll have to see whether England will play Jason Roy or not as he hasn’t been at his best in this tournament. But the thing is that when England’s top order failed in the last game, their middle order rose to the occasion and helped them go from 35 for 3 to 194 for 4. Morgan played brilliantly for his 87 and Stokes was splendid with his unbeaten 102 runs knock from just 109 balls. So, Pakistan will have to find a solution to break through defenses of such formidable batting lineup where everyone is getting runs and lots of them.
As for their bowling, no one bowler has been performing consistently for them and in every next game a new bowler rises to the occasion and takes the responsibility to help them go over the line. In the last game it was 4 wickets each for Mark Wood and Adil Rashid and before that it was Liam Plunkett who picked up 8 wickets in two matches. So, it could be anybody to pop up with a superb bowling performance against a shaky batting lineup of Pakistan. But we’ll have to wait and watch who it will be on the day.
