Match Prediction:

India will win.

India managed to survive the 2nd ODI despite a mechanical performance from Akila Dananjaya who picked up 5 wickets within just 13 balls to threaten Indian batting powerhouse even with Sri Lanka’s minimal total on the board. But with that survival of India, Sri Lanka are now faced with much bigger problems as their captain Tharanga and the opener Gunathilaka will not be available for the 3rd ODI at the same venue.

India vs Sri Lanka 3rd ODI Astrological Prediction

Our astrological prediction for India vs Sri Lanka 3rd ODI says that India are again the favorites to win this one. Though Sri Lanka came very close to winning the 2nd ODI after putting only 236 on the board while batting first, but that turn of events was only due to the single major performance from Dananjaya and other than that Sri Lankan bowlers were unable to achieve anything substantial and a couple of bowlers leaked runs at more than 5 RPO.

Going into the next game, Sri Lanka will be playing under a new captain in Kapugedera while Chandimal will be replacing the injured Gunathilaka and Thirimanne will be the replacement for their suspended captain. Slow over rate in the last game caused the suspension for the captain just after captaining the side in two matches. On the other hand, shoulder injury has rule Gunathilaka out of the series as he won’t be available for next 10 games for Sri Lanka, at least. So, what they are left with then? Well, they still have Dickwella at the top who got starts in both the matches. Then Kapugedera seemed to get back to the form in the last game after playing a handy 40 runs knock. Siriwardana also seems in good touch as he scored 58 in the last game at run-a-ball.

If Dananjaya can pull off a similar performance as he did in the first ODI picking up 6 for 54 in his 10 overs then it will be great for Sri Lanka. However, all the rest of their bowling lot needs to up their game.

Indian openers did a pretty fine job in the last game as they gave them more than a hundred runs in the opening partnership with Sharma getting 54 and Dhawan scoring 49 but then came the batting collapse and they lost 6 wickets in quick succession. If it were not for MS Dhoni and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, India would have lost the last match in a low-scoring affair. Dhoni scored an unbeaten 45 from 68 balls while Kumar scored 53 from 80 balls to see their side home. None of the big names from amongst Rahul, Kohli and Pandya could stabilize the innings in the middle overs. So, if they have to win comfortably in the next ODI and win the series as well then they’ll need a solid all-round performance to stumble the already tumbling Sri Lankan outfit.

Indian bowlers are already doing a pretty fine job and Bumrah was the pick of the lot in the last ODI where he picked up 4 wickets for 43 runs. Chahal also picked up a couple to show his consistency with the ball whereas Pandya and Patel picked up 1 wicket each. So, India seem a pretty good bowling lineup and they will continue to threat the Sri Lankan batsmen as we go on in the ODI series.
