CPL T20 All Team Squads Officially Announced 2017 Season

CPL T20 League is one of the most accredited T20 leagues around on the scene of International cricket. It’s been almost a decade since the league is being played and now it’s time for CPL 2017 to get underway. There will be 6 teams participating in the tournament and the matches will begin from 4th of August 2017. The tournament will last till September and, therefore, we have more than a month of action-pack cricket schedule for us to enjoy. Let’s take a look at the teams and their squads for the CPL 2017.

CPL 2017 Teams

As mentioned earlier, there will be 6 teams to take part in the CPL 2017. Here are the franchise names.

Jaimaica Tallawahs managed to win their second CPL title as they won the 2016 edition of the tournament. Let’s see who will win it this time around.

The squads have already been announced by all the 6 franchises taking part in the CPL 2017. Let’s discuss individual team squads one by one.

Barbados Tridents Squad – CPL T20 2017

Barbados will be playing under Kieran Pollard this time around and the basher will like to lead his side from the front. He has maintained great record over the years both with the bat and the ball. Let’s see how it turns out for them now.

Guyana are the finalists of the last season and they just could not pull it off at the last moment. They were packed with some good players in the last season and have some wonderful signings this time around as well. Ryad Emritt was the captain of this franchise last time around and is expected to lead the team yet again. Though not officially announced, but Guyana are unlikely to change the captain who them to the finals in the last season.

Jamaica Tallawahs Squad – CPL T20 2017

Jamaica are the proud champions of the last season and it’s time for them to win yet another season and set their winning streak. Chris Gayle lead them to the title win last time but now there has been a change in script as Gayle is not part of the side anymore. So, we’ll have to wait and watch who takes the cap this time around. Lendl Simmons is a strong contender for leading Tallawahs this time around.

St. Kitts And Nevis Patriots Squad – CPL T20 2017

With CPL T20 winning captain part of their squad this time around, St. Kitts and Nevis will have high targets set for this season. Yes, they have Chris Gayle in their side this time around and he will, probably, be leading the side this season. But they also have West Indian T20 captain Carlos Brathwaite in their squad as well so we can expect things to go bit differently as well and Carlos might be seen in the captain’s cap. Nevertheless, they have one of the best squads in the tournament and will be strong contenders for making it to the final stages of the tournament.

St. Lucia Stars Squad – CPL T20 2017

Former West Indian Captain, Darren Sammy, will be leading this outfit. He is, probably, the most natural choice possible for leading this team. They have some good T20 specialists in their squad and will be expected to make great impact right throughout the tournament. Sammy himself has set much higher standards in the T20 leagues that are being played all around the world and will be in the spotlight right throughout this tournament. He lead Peshawar Zalmi to title victory in the PSL 2017 earlier this year and will be expected to lead his home side in the same way.

  • Key Batsmen: Jognson Charles, Rahkeem Cornwall, Kamran Akmal, Andre Fletcher, Marlon Samuels

Trinbago Knight Riders Squad – CPL T20 2017

Dwayne Bravo is the most obvious choice for Trinbago Knight Riders to choose as their captain. But only time will tell who will get the leading role for this CPL Franchise. They also have signed some of the stalwarts of the game and are sure to go deep into the tournament. They have some big names, both local and overseas, and can be expected to outsmart other franchises in the tournament quite easily.

  • Key Batsmen: Hashim Amla, Darren Bravo, Dwayne Bravo, Brendon McCullum, Denesh Ramdin
  • Key Bowlers: Shadab Khan, Sunil Narine, Nikita Miller, Kevon Cooper, Ronsford Beaton
