So, we have had a good start to the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 with 300+ runs scored in both the innings of the first match between England and Bangladesh. Well, now it’s time for some of the visitors to show their best sides to the world. It will be Australia taking on New Zealand in the next ODI in Champions Trophy on 2nd of June at Birmingham.

As of our today match prediction, it’s Australia who are favorites to win this one and New Zealand have fewer chances to come on top. Both the sides showed their best in one of the warm-up fixtures and had one game affected by rain. But now it’s the real stage and they have to perform to win their first game in the tournament.

For Australia, it was Aaron Finch who went fluently in both the warm-ups. Against Sri Lanka he scored 137 while against Pakistan he was unbeaten at 36 when the rain interrupted play. So, they will be expecting him to fire now at the big stage in their opening game of the tournament. Besides, Australia will be relying on David Warner, Chris Lynn, Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell in the batting department. Travis Head can also play a big role for them in the middle if he makes it to the playing eleven in the first game. As for their bowling, it will be Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins  who will be expected to make a mark on the game tomorrow.

New Zealand, on the other hand, looked down and out in the rain-affected game against India where they lost by 45 runs on D/L method. But they achieved something special by chasing down 357 in their second warm-up in 46.1 overs and with 6 wickets in hand. So, they’ll surely be brimming with confidence now. It was Guptill who lead the chase by scoring 116 before getting retired out and then the captain took over to score 88 and he too got retired out. Broom and Anderson played handy knocks towards the end to see their side home. Broom was unbeaten on 37 while Anderson was unbeaten on 50. So, all these guys will be in the spotlight as New Zealand take on a tougher opposition in Australia. In the bowling department, they’ll be depending on Trent Boult and Tim Southee to provide them quick wickets early on. Mitchell Santner and James Neesham will also have a role to play.
