Australia vs England Ashes 3rd Test Today Match Prediction

Coming to Australia vs England today match prediction, it’s going to be Australia to go in as favorites but England will definitely come hard this time after back to back defeats in the first two Test matches. Nevertheless, Australia are still the favorites as their confidence would be sky rocketing.

Australia will be relying on Bancroft and Warner at the top and despite giving a dismal performance in the first Test, Bancroft might get a chance and will be expected to make a mark this time around. Warner, however, was good in the first innings scoring 47 at the top with Usman Khawaja getting 53. It was Shaun Marsh who actually anchored the innings with 126 runs knock and will be expected to play a similar role in the next Test. Paine, Cummins and Smith were also amongst runs. One thing that Australia would really want to avoid, however, is the kind of disaster they had in the second innings.

Australia (From): Cameron Bancroft, David Warner, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood, Jackson Bird, Mitchell Marsh, Usman Khawaja, Steven Smith(c), Peter Handscomb, Shaun Marsh, Tim Paine(w), Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins.

England (From): Alastair Cook, Mark Stoneman, James Vince, James Anderson, Gary Ballance, Mason Crane, Ben Foakes, Jake Ball, Tom Curran, Joe Root(c), Dawid Malan, Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow(w), Chris Woakes, Craig Overton, Stuart Broad.

As for their bowling, Starc was the spearhead picking up 8 wickets in the game with Lyon following with 6. Hazlewood and Cummins also impressed with the ball and will be expected to make life harder for the English batsmen in the next game.

English batsmen really failed to give a good fight in the last game as they got out for a little over 200 in both the innings in Adelaide Test. The bright side for them was Overton’s 41* in the first innings and Root’s 67 in the second. Cook also played well for his short innings. They would expect a real effort in the middle from the likes of Vince, Stoneman, Malan, Ali and Bairstow in the next game. All of them can bat well and will be expected to show their mettle with the bat.

As for their bowling, Overton was impressive with 3 wickets in the first innings while it was Anderson and Woakes who actually dismantled strong Australian batting line in the second innings with their 5 and 4 wickets respectively. A combined effort for them in the next game can open the gate for England to seal their first win in the series.
