The team will be playing under their regular captain for T20Is in this all important series of T20 matches that enjoy the ‘International’ status. Yes, it will be Champions Trophy Winning captain for Pakistan Sarfaraz Ahmed to lead the side in the 3 T20Is in Lahore.
Sarfaraz has built some credibility as an attacking batsman but, more than that, he has taken is PSL franchise in the finals twice in first two editions. And, who can forget that, he recently won Champions Trophy for his country as well. So, both his captaincy skills and attacking batting skills will come in handy for Pakistan in this 3-match series.
Batting Strengths – Batting Lineup
Quite a few of Pakistani players have recently been playing in the Natwest T20 Blast and the CPL T20 league, so they will be coming in with some recent experience and flow. The selectors haven’t just picked the regular players, but some new faces will also be seen in these T20 matches. As for their batting strengths, Pakistan will be relying on flamboyant opener Fakhar Zaman at the top and Ahmed Shehzad has also received a call-back for the event. Besides, there will be Babar Azam, Umar Amin, Shoaib Malik, and the captain himself in the middle order to take the responsibility. Especially, Malik will be the key as he has been lately performing quite well with the bat and can anchor the innings no matter what the situation may be.
Bowling Strengths – Bowling Lineup
Though Hasan Ali and Mohammad Amir remain to be the spearheads in the bowling department, Sohail Khan and Aamer Yamin have also been called back for the 3 match series. Usman Khan will also get a chance along these three matches and will be expected to do something special with the ball this time around. The spin bowling attack is even stronger and will probably play the key part against all the foreign batsmen to give Sarfaraz some cushion in the bowling department. Shadab Khan will lead the spin department with his aggressive leggies while there will be Mohammad Nawaz and Imad Wasim to support him as well. Don’t forget Faheem Ashraf and Rumman Raees who have been quite impressive in their short international careers.
