India vs Sri Lanka 3rd ODI Live Streaming
Heroics from Indian lower middle order batsmen came good over a splendid spell from Sri Lankan spinner Akila Dananjaya who grabbed 5 wickets in just 13 balls in the last ODI. But certainly, that wasn’t enough for taking Sri Lanka over the line. Now, they have an even bigger challenge at hand with their captain suspended for a couple of ODIs due to slow over rate in last game and the opener Gunathilaka getting shoulder injury to end the series for himself. The road is a lot more easier for India now and Sri Lanka will have to come up with a whole hearted effort if they really have to win it.
Both the Indian openers played wonderfully in the beginning of the innings and Rohit got his first half-century of the series by scoring 54 runs in the last game. Dhawan also played a brilliant knock for his 50-ball 49. But then Indian batting collapsed and no one in the middle order could stay on the wicket longer until the decisive knocks from Dhoni and Kumar came in. So, Indian batsmen will have to proactive in the next game and as usual they will be depending more than ever on their opening duo. Kohli will also have to take the responsibility just like he did in the first ODI and will have to come up with a knock of his stature. A big knock is also due on Kedar Jadhav as well.
On the bowling front, Indian bowlers are going great except for Bhuvneshwar Kumar who couldn’t really provide them with early wickets in both the opening matches. Bumrah and Chahal prove to be the real strength for India going into the next game as they picked up 6 wickets among them in the 2nd ODI.
Sri Lanka Strengths
Sri Lanka will go into the 3rd ODI as a calamity stricken outfit. Their captain has been suspended and the opening batsman Gunathilaka has been ruled out due to shoulder injury. So, it will be great responsibility on the make-shift captain Kapugedera to marshal his troops perfectly in the 3rd ODI to make sure that they win and keep the series alive. Dickwella and Mendis will be their biggest strength going into the next game. Though Dickwella has played well so far in the series, Mendis is yet to come up with a big knock. So, it’s time for him to show his potential and fire at the right instant. Mathews and Sriwardana can also be dangerous with the bat. Especially, Siriwardana played a brilliant hand of run-a-ball 58 in the last game to keep the hopes of Sri Lankans alive and will have to take the responsibility now again.
Sri Lankan bowling has been the real area of concern for them and they will have to quickly figure out a solution to their bowling woes. None of the bowlers could pick up a wicket for them in first 15 overs in last game until that special spell came from Dananjaya. So, we’d say it’s Dananjaya who seems to be the point of strength for them in the bowling department with a superb performance under his belt and his confidence growing higher and higher.
