India Tour of Sri Lanka 2017 Prediction – Winning Chances
The two sides have played some really good cricket in the recent past and they will be counting on their key players to help them rise to the top and win all the series that are scheduled on this tour. Nevertheless, it is going to be a healthy competition and the cricket fans will have a lot to cheer about and they will definitely witness some of the great games of cricket.
Talking about the favorites, India will definitely go in as favorites despite the fact that this series is not going to be the home series for the Indians. They dominated West Indians in the entire series they played against Caribbean side and their batsmen and the bowlers all looked in great form. Talking about the batsmen, Rahane, Kohli and Dhawan will prove to be the real threat for the Islanders. They have been in great form of late and have been piling runs game after game. Even though the tour to West Indies did not include a Test series between the two sides, but still India are the favorites in all three formats as they are already the no.1 ranked test side in the world.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, have recently lost the ODI series against a side that is still struggling to make sure that it doesn’t have to play the ICC World Cup 2019 Qualifiers. But the home side just couldn’t hold on to their ground and lost 3 ODIs in a 5-match ODI series. Even the start to test series wasn’t as convincing for the Sri Lankans and that is exactly why they will not be the favorites to win the series scheduled on India’s tour to Sri Lanka. Secondly, they have a comparatively young side that is carrying all the burden in all formats of the game and with their new captain Dinesh Chandimal, it’s definitely going to be a tough ask for the Sri Lankans to win any of the 3 series.
Nevertheless, Sri Lanka will be expected to show up a good fight as they have quite a few capable young players with the likes of Dickwella, Tharanga, Mendis and Gunaratne. So, we’ll get to see great cricket right through starting July 26th 2017.
